Technology and Artificial Intelligence

We are interested in technology that earns its place in a business: it removes a manual step, shortens a decision, or makes an outcome measurable. Novelty is not a requirement.

Overview

Software, automation and applied AI

We are interested in technology that earns its place in a business: it removes a manual step, shortens a decision, or makes an outcome measurable. Novelty is not a requirement.

What this area covers

Capabilities and focus

1

Business web applications

Portals, internal tools and customer-facing applications designed around a defined workflow and built to be maintained.

2

Workflow automation

Connecting the tools a business already uses so that repetitive hand-offs, approvals and data entry happen once, correctly.

3

Applied AI tools

AI-assisted drafting, classification, extraction and search, introduced with human review where the cost of an error is meaningful.

4

Prototyping and integration

Short, scoped prototypes that test whether an idea works with real data before a larger commitment is made.

Process

How we approach a technology project

  1. Define the workflowWho does what today, how long it takes, and where it goes wrong. We measure before we build.
  2. Choose the smallest useful stepOne workflow, one owner, one measurable outcome.
  3. Prototype with real dataA working version that people can test, and criticise, quickly.
  4. Add review and safeguardsHuman checkpoints, logging and clear data-handling rules, especially for AI features.
  5. Measure, then expandWe extend only what the numbers justify.
Our approach to AI
  • AI output that affects a legal, financial or safety outcome is reviewed by a person.
  • Personal and confidential data is minimised, and its path through any third-party service is documented.
  • We prefer measurable improvements over demonstrations.
  • We state limitations plainly, including where a tool is unreliable.

Discuss a technology or AI opportunity.

Tell us what you are trying to achieve, and we will tell you plainly whether and how we can help.
